16. Appendix B: Supported Databases

Because not all databases can offer the same features, there may be limitations using specific databases. This chapter enumerates all supported database engines, and their possible issues.

MySQL (5.x)

• InnoDB support must be compiled into mysql.
• Can not support more than 255 characters in map keys.
• Date fields are only stored in seconds precision.

PostgreSQL (7.4.x,7.5.x)

No explicit limitations known.

Oracle (9.x,10.x)

• Strings are limited to 1024 characters.

HSQLDB (1.8.x)

• Can not be used from multiple Store instances.
